Bula Linda!
I just wanted to thank you again for assisting us in booking our Honeymoon at Matangi. We had a spectacular time, and we were sad to leave.
Cook Islands were the highlight of our trip, which included Tahiti, Bora Bora, Rorotonga and Aitutaki. Aitutaki was the top destination of the trip. We found the locals to be very helpful, caring and accomdating, whereas the locals in Tahiti & Bora x 2 seemed to be indifferent / aloof to us. I’d highly recommend using south seas adventures for a tour agent. Sarah went out of her way to make our trip so amazing. She even scheduled us for a private camping experience on a deserted tropical island in Aitutaki!!!

Bula Tree!!!
We are back from our AMAZING honeymoon!! Thank you for everything as this is definitely the perfect honeymoon we were looking for. Namale was on point in every aspect!
Thank you again and just a heads up that my brother may be in contact with you as he is getting married in April, I told him Fiji was PERFECT and that you are AMAZING!
Well, we are back and it seems such a long time ago since we were in paradise! We had a great time.
Both places were wonderful. The Pacific Resort was nice and quiet which is what we wanted. Everything was great and Michael, the general manager, would come over and speak with us almost every day.
My only comment about the Pacific Resort is that it is in the wrong part of the lagoon. It is facing North and the main lagoon is the other side of the island in the South. The lagoon in front of the Pacific Resort has no fish (they and the coral apparently were killed off during a severe storm many years ago) and you cannot really walk in it due to the constant coverage of sea cucumbers. You end up walking on them and falling over into the coral. I went all over and found nothing. The day trip out with Teking was amazing and made up for that. The next time we go there we will go to the Aitutaki Lagoon Resort which is on a motu in the main lagoon.
The Sea Change Villas are wonderful and I think that Deb and Charlie make them much better. The villas are great but it is Charlie’s knowledge of the island and restaurants that help make the stay quite different. Without that knowledge we may have ended up at the wrong restaurants (which apparently there are a few) and we may have regretted not staying in a resort. He pointed out the perfect restaurants and generally helped us with everything, including finding a specific rum on the island for Joanne. Due to their recommendations, we ended up having the best meals we have eaten anywhere else in the world! We will definitely end up there again.
I posted a review on trip advisor for Sea Change and South Seas Adventures and it is currently under review so should be released in a few days (although if there is a separate area for SSA I’ll add one there too). I feel that I cannot post a favorable review of the Pacific Resort simply because it was wonderful but there are issues that I have a problem with but they are subjective and may not affect anyone else.
We’ll be contacting you next year for our next trip……

Dear Linda,
Jim and I wanted to thank you so much for helping us to plan the most remarkable week of our lives! Matangi Island is a dream fantasy come true and the wedding was more than we could ever have hoped for! The staff at Matangi is out of this world! It was a trip of a lifetime and a fairytale wedding come true! You accurately described the resorts differences very well and that helped to guide us to the perfect spot for our wedding and honeymoon. You are the best Fiji specialist without a doubt!
Of note, we met your step son Greg there! He was one of the paparazzi’s at our wedding and got some great photos. He and Felicia were really fun to be with, and we got to Dive with Greg. He is a great diver! And, apparently we are neighbors! What a small world. Thank you again for the most memorable time of our new life together as husband wife.

Bula Tree!
Matangi was absolute heaven! We had a wonderful time there. It was the most beautiful place I have ever visited. My husband and I plan on writting a review on tripadvisor.com together when we have a moment. I also need to get my pictures together so we can add some photos to our review.
We stayed in the only bure that was completely redone (#10 Tini) and it was amazing. The food was fabulous, the drinks were fabulous, I absolutely love Bibi and Kimale. We also hung out with Papa and the guys while they played music and drank Kava (my husband took a liking to kava!). Sala took us on a kayaking adventure around the island and Tom took us to the amazing waterfalls and to the village across the way (I don’t remember the name?). We will be going back to Fiji. I don’t know if I could spend another 11 days at Matangi (my husband got a little bored of relaxing…I however did not!!) but we will definately stop by for a few days.
While there, we had the pleasure of meeting Linda’s (step?) son Greg and his girlfriend Felicia, they were fabulous! Greg raved and raved about Matangi when he first arrived, and he was right! It was fun to talk to everyone, most of the couples there had booked their trip either through you or Linda.
Thank you for putting together such a wonderful honeymoon for us. It was fabulous, I wish there were more words in the English language to describe it. We had the best time of our lives and I started to miss Matangi the second the boat pulled away (which by the way we had a group of about 30 to sing the farewell song to us!). There were five couples who left the same day, and I think there was not a dry eye on that boat.
Thank you Tree! I will be contacting you again for our next trip to Fiji!
Just want to tell you that Bob and I had a GREAT vacation in Aitutaki! Our bungalow (201) was right on the beach and the best of all the bungalows at the hotel. All of the flights, greetings, etc. worked out well. The lagoon trip was fantastic…..the great beauty of the Cook Islands was spread out in all the grandeur in front of us! I could have done the lagoon trip 3 or 4 times!!
We rented a moto and traveled around the island…very little vehicles on island…so very safe. The next time, we will do without the meal vouchers….really couldn’t eat $45 NZ of food each….but no problem with the vouchers, everybody honored them.
We certainly will call on you again when we are ready for another South Seas Adventure!!!!!!!!!
We had a fantastic Honeymoon and a wonderful trip. We really enjoyed the Cooks and they were a perfect destination for our honeymoon. I am very happy to say that we had zero logistical issues, and everything went very, very smoothly. From airport transfers, hotel check-ins and of course Teking’s overnight, we had a flawless trip. After having being on both islands and looking at the various accommodations available, we both agreed that we had chosen the best accommodations (for us of course) on both islands. Thank you for your help in selecting the properties!
Both the pacific and RBB were simply wonderful properties. We had fantastic experiences at both places…. And of course with Teking. The overnight with Teking was certainly a very, very unique experience. I can tell you that it was absolutely a highlight of the trip and a truly unique experience. He took EXCELLENT care of both of us, and even left enough water for Vanessa to get a quick rinse…. ok, i had one too. He was very concerned with our comfort and safety and he made sure we had everything we needed for the night, complete with a bottle of champagne and of course plenty of beer for me. It was a fantastic night.
This weekend we are going to fill out the Trip Advisor reviews for everything. Feel free to us me as a reference, as we had a great experience with everything that you setup for us.
What a trip! We had a great time over there, diving, fishing, surfing, snorkeling, hiking, etc. The Beqa Lagoon Resort was very nice, with plenty to do. There were a lot of Americans there, and we made some new friends. The diving was well organized and covered a lot of different areas. The Nagigia Resort was more primitive, but we had the whole place to ourselves for three days, and the staff made our stay very comfortable and friendly. The snorkeling there was awesome, with a big pristine reef just off the shore. The fishing was good also (I caught a 35-pound wahoo on my light spinning tackle). The surfing there was pretty intense, but I managed to survive the huge waves with no wipeouts…. pretty good for me! The weather was very nice, with a good amount of trade winds, but just the right temperature. Diving, snorkeling, and surfing definitely had us using our wetsuits, since the water temp was around 77 degrees. My daughter and I climbed the King Kong mountain with a local guide, and it was difficult but worth it (great jungle and views).
The only negative thing that happened during our vacation was that one of the lunches at Beqa Lagoon (ribs) made a bunch of people sick to their stomachs (including my wife and daughter). Fortunately, I had fish for lunch and was not affected. There was a doctor on vacation there who helped us out with injections, etc.
Oh, and the Pacific Sun Airlines wouldn’t send our surfboards from Nadi to the airport on Kadavu (even though they promised to), so we had to borrow some boards from the Nagigia Resort. I talked to another surfer from the US who had gone to a different surf resort and he said the same thing happened to him.
All in all, it was what I would consider a “trip of a lifetime”.
Thanks for the arrangements,
Stuart

Destination – Matangi Private Island Resort, Fiji

Matangi Private Island Resort was the trip of a lifetime for us. We were married at Matangi and it was a fairy tale dream fantasy come true. The wedding was more than we could ever have hoped for! We said the other guests could attend and the staff threw quite a party! They took care of all the small wedding details without us even planning them. Kay was the ultimate wedding planner! On her business card her title is “reservations”, but she was the resorts leading lady who will take care of anything for you. “Papa” took all day in making our wedding arch and hand wove palm tree leaves together for hours with flowers all around it. By night, he sang and played the guitar and ukaleli. The rum punch was made for us without us asking, and it had hand cut fresh fruit in it, apples oranges, pineapple, mint and, even watermelon, and it was spectacular! (Not a huge fan of rum punch). Bibi was a fantastic bartender, and she took her time to make everything with Fiji pride. The appetizers and cake were great too.
The room we had was the top Treehouse “Bure”, and it was to die for! All the bures are spacious and spread way far apart! The interior walls are made of bamboo and have high ceilings with a ceiling fan. Solid hardwood floorsFront room has a day bed, upstairs there is a romantic king bed, and there is also a covered large day bed outside on your deck/yard overlooking the ocean. All 3 beds have mosquito netting which adds to the ambiance of the suite. There is an outdoor lava rock shower with a dolphin made out of old coral pieces. The room is only slighly worn, but they are getting ready to update it. I wouldn’t change much except improve the lighting in the bathroom and bedroom… that is the only negative thing I can say about the room or Matangi. But guess what? The owner told me they are going to be updating this and the spa soon!
They had several activities each day that were fun. A must do is the villiage tour to Taveuni Island to meet with the chief for Kava and interact with the local people and school children (however, we wish this tour was longer). Ali was our scuba dive master and not only did she take us to some great dive sites, she also taught us about the Fijian culture with pleasure.
All couples are treated to a romantic secluded private dinner and a boatride and private picnic to horseshoe bay.
Housekeeping magically knows when you have gone to breakfast or dinner, because when you come back everything is cleaned and new flowers are there. Complementary laundry service daily, next time we wont bring as much!
At Matangi, all the little details are done from the heart and you don’t have to ask for anything. It is a cultural awakening of the spirit! I have silver spoon taste yet I also appreciate nature and the real world. We were so sad to leave, I had tears in my eyes for about 30 minutes as most of the entire staff sang their traditional farwell song to us until we became small ants on the boat in the sea…… (You can only get there by boat).
Not for ritzy snobs, although you would probably have a great time if you let go.
Thank you so much Linda at South Seas Adventures for guiding us to select this hidden gem!!
Lalati was OK, I think It could be a lot better if they improve the looks of their back bures, specially the bathrooms, they look pretty old and the water system was kind of weir eather too cold or too hot. The food was ok, the only thing was that everybody had to sit in the same table every day, we got to meet most all of them but it would be nice if we can also sit by ourselves. They need to heat the pool, was freezing. The owners and the staff was very nice, very friendly. The diving operation was pretty laid back, the dive masters were very helpful and nice.
I love the staff on Paradise Taveuni, they were very nice, helful and always with a smile, specially Tomasi and Mere. The accomodations were nice, I think their setting of the whole place is beautiful but they need to work on their meal plan, the food was ok but for the price it should be better. The diving was excellent, the shore dive very nice too.
Jean Michelle Cousteau is a very nice resort, more touristee but I like it, their food was very good and the staff very friendly, massage out of this world, if you go there ask for Torika, she is the best, I called her Magic Hands hahhahaha… They have a nannie service so if we go there next time will bring our kids. Well, I hope this helps you!
Thanks again,
Denise & Daniel
