Destination – Matangi Private Island Resort, Fiji
SSA Agent – Sarah Bosley
Hi Sarah,
I don’t know if Roxan told you but we had the most amazing time in Matangi! Thank you so much for setting it up for us and thank you especially for the extra birthday touches. It was really very special and I earned major brownie points but they should really go to you! They sang a birthday serenade when we got there AND that night at dinner with a cake…above and beyond anything I expected. Everyone there is so nice and they took such good care of us. It was so hard to leave. I’m definitely recommending you guys and Matangi to my friends.
Thanks again!

Greetings Greg,
Thanks so much for providing all the coordination for my vacation. Everything went very smoothly. Two weeks have gone by since my return from Fiji and this morning I return to work. I promised a ‘review’ of the Garden Island Resort.
I have traveled a lot in my life (26 countries so far) and can report from experience based authority that the eight nights at the Garden Island Resort on Taveuni were paradise. The following is a brief summary of my time:
- The ten hour flight from LAX to Nadi Fiji allowed me to catch about seven hours of sleep. When we arrived in Nadi at 5:20 AM I felt rested and acclimated even though there was a long flight and considerable time change.
- The commuter flight to Taveuni was on time and the pick up car was there waiting for me.
- Fiji is a third world country so I was expecting rough roads but was pleasantly surprised. The roads are fine and the basic infrastructure (roads, water, electricity) all works well.
- The Resort staff were all off the scale friendly. The resort managers (Nigel and Carol) were very hospitable and took care of every consideration.
- The room was superb, very comfortable, and always clean.
- The food for lunch and dinner were gourmet. (Breakfast was a good continental style meal. Just right before going diving.)
- The diving was spectacular. I took 15 dives over the course of six days and pleased to report that the reef systems are in near pristine condition. The White Wall is famous, but there were many spots that I enjoyed just as much.
- There was unlimited snorkeling right off the front of the resort.
- I went on a half day fishing trip on the last day and caught a 35 pound Mahi-Mahi.
- Overall I would give The Garden Island Resort a ten out of ten.
- The return trip included a ten hour stay in Nadi. This was the only part of the trip that I dreaded, but it turned out okay. There are several hotels adjacent to the airport that will let you hang out at the pool, shower, catch a decent meal, and relax for next to nothing. Nadi itself is forgettable with a lot of little touristy shops with overly pushy salespersons where you can buy Fiji tourist stuff if you want to take souvenirs home to the family.
Greg, Thanks again for a great vacation.

Tree,
We had an AMAZING time in Fiji! Wananavu was the perfect match for us and actually exceeded our expectations! You really listened and understood what we were looking for, and then recommended the perfect place at a very reasonable price. Rachel and I will get together in the next few weeks and write more detailed feedback, both to share with you and to post on TripAdvisor.
Thanks for sending us on a wonderful honeymoon, and we’ll be in touch with more details.

Destination – Tokoriki Island Resort & Lalati Resort and Spa
SSA Agent – Linda Gutekunst
Hi Linda,
Well, we’re back from our Fiji honeymoon and I just wanted to let you know how things went and give our feedback. Everything was amazing and Suni and I are both struggling through post-honeymoon depression. We are very happy that we decided to do both locations – Tokoriki and Lalati.
Tokoriki was much better than we even expected and both of us were very impressed with everything there. The attention to detail and condition of the villas was astounding. The food was amazing and both of us ate WAY too much. Everyone was super friendly, we had a good mixture of relaxation and activities, and the time flew by. Overall experience there was definitely an A+.
Lalati was a much different experience with fewer people and a more intimate feel. You can tell that there is some “work in progress” going on there, but neither of us could find anything to complain about of any significance. We stayed extremely busy while at Lalati. We did two days of two tank dives, including the shark dive, which was the stand out experience of the trip. The diving was amazing! Their divemaster, Cirelli (spelling?), was hands down the nicest person we met and we spend countless time talking to him about Fijian life and cultures. The accommodations were very nice and comfortable, the food was very good (not quite Tokoriki, but no complaints at all), and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We talked to Brad a few times and he was so helpful and accommodating, it was nice to see that everyone at the place was there to help us and make our vacation as great as it could be. Overall experience here was a solid A. *As a side note, they weren’t yet finished with the luxury villa, so it’s a good thing we didn’t decide to do that!
Thank you so much for your help in finding these two wonderful places. I’m very glad we split up the trip into these two resorts, as they offered a much different experience and we feel more fulfilled having gone to both. I really appreciate all of the effort and insight you gave while setting up the trip. If there is any review I can give or a place to put positive feedback, please let me know.
Venaka!

Greg,
Will definitely fill out the questionnaire. On a scale from 1-10, the Beqa experience was a 12! And you were most helpful all along the way. From that trip I have 15 new dive friends for life and many incredible memories. Thanks for all your efforts!
